Chodavaram, which name got twisted and turned to read as sholavaram in revenue records, perhaps Tamilisized over time with historical changes in the administration of the region, is my native place and till recently this village, in my living memory, was inhabited mostly by telgus of my community, Telgu balijas and we used to call it only as chodavaram.
Laid out to the east of the Great Northern Trunk road, now listed as the National highway 5, the main street called the Perumal koil street runs east - west with the rows of houses on either sides perfectly aligned. The most famous so called "hangout" here is the Rajagopala swamy temple which heads the street presiding over the inhabitanta os the street.
Keep watching this space for more historical bits.
